Henrhyd Waterfall, shown on the left, has an uninterrupted 90ft drop, making it the highest waterfall in South Wales. Only 3 miles away, the falls can easily be walked to, and the stables also provides a Special Ride there that can be booked in advance.
It is another impressive local feature within easy reach of Pentre Riding Stables and well worth the climb down (and back up!) a steep, wooded valley to stand at the foot of Henrhyd as the water thunders into the pool below.
Parking is free at the top, on the lane between Coelbren and Penycae. More photographs and information can be found on Ystradgynlais Info's webpage for Henrhyd Falls. |
